This particular sunrise didn’t had clouds on the sky and that presented a problem: without clouds that reflect the light down, if you photograph at the moment the sun is rising up above the horizon line then all the massive structures that are back lit will have big areas in shadow. Even though I used two ND gradual filters, of 3 and 2 stops, I didn’t managed to get all the areas exposed right. My goal was to capture in camera as much dynamic range as possible.
