This speed editing in Lightroom will be done using a sunset photo from Misurina Lake in Dolomites Mountains. I stayed few days in Cortina D’Ampezzo and the day I arrived I had the chance to make this beautiful sunset photo over Misurina Lake.
As always, I begin by enabling profile correction, removed chromatic aberrations, improving the sharpening mask and also add some luminance for noise reduction. Lightroom can solve these problems with simple clicks.
I start by doing some local adjustments using the graduated filter. I’m lowering the exposure for the sky for more details and also make the color temperature warmer to increase the effect of the sunset light. You can easily do this in Lightroom by using the top Temperature slider found in every local tool or on the basic panel.
I then make some overall color correction using the Split Toning tool. So, I’m adding some blue tint in the shadows of the photo just to compensate for the yellow/orange. Using the brush tool I then increase the shadow detail in the trees.
The radial filter from Lightroom will be used for the center area of the photo where the hotel is to add some light and contrast. In the end I add some clarity to the entire photo and for a speed edit I think this is it.
