In September I invite you in a special photographic tour in the heart of the Italian Alps, the Dolomite Mountains. The concept of the photo tour is to enjoy some of the best photo spots and touristic objectives from the area but to also benefit from the comfort of a 3 star hotel in Cortina D’Ampezzo.
The price includes accommodation, breakfast and participation at the photo tour together with photo guidance from photographer Toma Bonciu on matters like composition, subject picking, settings and editing tips.
Cortina D’Ampezzo is considered to be one of the most beautiful resorts in the Dolomite Mountains, also known as the Pearl of Dolomite with a beautiful architectural decor, with mountain villas and twisted roads and also stunning views to Monte Cristallo and Sorapis Mountains.
The structure of a day begins with photographing the sunrise, continues with breakfast and then, depending on the day we leave immediately for the hike of the day or we have time to sleep for an hour or two. There will be at least one day when we’ll take a longer break to analyze and discuss the photos we’ll make. Beside the talks on the field regarding composition and picking subjects, we’ll also have an editing session where I’ll present to you my editing techniques.
As photographic points we’ll have sunrise in Giau Pass (view toward Marmolada, Piz Boe and surrounding peaks), Limedes Lake (if it’s dry we have an alternative spot nearby), Gardena Pass (view over the entire Val Gardena Valley form the base of Sella Massif), Sella Pass with view toward Sella Massif, Marmolada, Piz Boe and Sassolungo, Cinque Torri (The Five Towers). The day hikes will be in places like Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Antorno Lake, Cinque Torri, Seceda, Val di Funes, Baste Lake, the plane of Lagazuoi and the area from Valparola Pass.
Additional costs that you need to consider: travel insurance, means of transportations in the area (we’ll group ourselves on cars to optimize costs), another meal every day (breakfast is included) and cable railways. We’ll also pay access to the road that goes to Auronzo from where we start the hike to Tre Cime di Lavaredo (30euros/car).
General program (this can change depending on the weather and the group)
