Someone asked me if there is a possibility to edit a photo in Lightroom then open it in Photoshop and then return to Lightroom without losing quality. In fact there is a way although with the new features from Photoshop CC you don’t need to.
To answer the question here is the method: edit the photo in Lightroom. When you consider that you want to move to Photoshop you don’t export it. You just right mouse click on the photo and Edit it > Adobe Photoshop CC. Then continue your editing in Photoshop and when you finished and want to return to Lightroom just hit CTR+W to close the window. When asked if you want to save click yes and the photo will be automatically opened back in Lightroom. You won’t loose quality because the photo is converted from RAW to tiff when crossing from one platform to another.
As I said early there is no need for that because now Photoshop CC has the ability to open Camera RAW as an adjustment filter so you can open the controls of Lightroom anytime on a file. To maintain its quality you edit the RAW file in Camera RAW and when you want to open Shift click on Open Image. This will open the photo as a smart object and whenever you want to return and edit some more in Camera RAW you just simply go double click on the layer.
